Aquatic therapy or Pool Therapy is offered on-site. Our pool is 4’3’’ deep, 15’ x 15’, and kept around 85-92 °F. Featuring easy seated entry for all patients, two underwater treadmills, and two endless swim currents. Aquatic therapy uses the physical properties of water to assist in patient healing and exercise performance. Aquatic therapy is great for everything from post-surgical, non-surgical, orthopedic, rheumatologic, and neurological to chronic pain. The buoyancy provides decompression of the joints and spine.

Benefits:

1. An increase in joint flexibility because it reduces the effects of gravity allowing for increased joint range of motion. Your affected body part will float, making it easier and less painful to move.
2. Muscles relaxation that are sore or tight.
3. Muscle strength improvement. Water is 600-700 times more resistive than air.
4. Lower pain. Increasing blood supply to sore muscles promotes relaxation.
5. Abnormal tone, spasticity, and rigidity. Water temperatures above 92 degrees in conjunction with hands-on techniques are effective in creating neutral warmth that reduces increased tone due to a neurological injury.
6. Loss of fear of falling or getting hurt.

Our aquatic therapist will customize and train you in an aquatic exercise that is appropriate to your level. If you wish to continue your aquatic exercise program after therapy ends, you can transition to our monthly membership-based aquatic wellness program for a small fee.
